The Mature Workers Job Club, a supportive small group that focuses on maintaining a positive, action-oriented attitude during job search, meets1:30- 3 pm Thursdays at the downtown WorkSource, 2024 3rd Ave, 2nd Floor

Low-Cost Life Jackets for Sale at Evans Pool June 21
A small investment could potentially save the lives of loved ones or friends.
Seattle Parks and Recreation will hold sales of low-cost life jackets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 21 at Evans Pool, 7201 E Green Lake Dr. N.
Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury death among children ages 1 – 14 years old.
The cost for life jackets sizes infant to youth large is $20, and for teens to adult size XXXL, is $30. The life jackets are comfortable, high-quality vests in fashion colors. All sales are final -sorry, Parks cannot offer refunds or returns.
Parks will hold additional life jacket sales from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, and Saturday, Aug. 16.
Parks offers this program in partnership with Seattle Children’s Hospital, Mustang Survival, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Seattle Unveils ‘Skateable’ Public Art at Jefferson Park on June 21
Seattle Parks and Recreation, Red Bull, 4Culture and professional skateboarder Torey Pudwill are excited to unveil a permanent art sculpture that is “skateable” by skateboards in the northeast corner of Jefferson Park, which is located at 3801 Beacon Ave S, Seattle 98108.
The Red Bull Skate Space, designed for the City of Seattle, will be opened in Jefferson Park on International Go Skateboarding Day, June 21, 2014, 11 a.m.– 2 p.m. Pro skateboarders Torey Pudwill, Ryan Sheckler, Felipe Gustavo, Tom Schaar, Alex Midler, Ryan Decenzo and Joey Brezinski will attend the unveiling.
Red Bull Skate Space will be permanently located in Seattle’s Jefferson Park. Read Seattle’s skateboard plan at www.seattle.gov/parks.
Global Lens 2013: Films From Around The World
The Seattle Public Library will host free screenings of Global Lens 2013 films at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium.
The screenings are free and open to the public. Tickets and registration are not required. Parking is available in the Central Library garage for $5 after 5 p.m.
The Global Lens film series launched in 2003 to support the distribution of unique and critically-acclaimed cinematic works from around the world.

Senior-Friendly Computer Classes at Southeast Seattle Senior Center
Southeast Seattle Senior Center (SESSC) is offering affordable, hands-on computer classes just for seniors, July 15 through Oct. 2. The classes will be taught by Leslie Stewart, who tailors classes for participants and makes computer skills easily accessible and lessons welcoming for older adults.
These classes are funded by the City of Seattle through the Technology Matching Fund to promote technological literacy and civic engagement for seniors in our community.
The most recent report from the Pew Research Center shows that only 59 percent of U.S. seniors are internet users (compared to 86 percent of all adults.) The research also shows that those seniors who are using the internet connect with the digital world regularly. They also report that “fully 79% of older adults who use the internet agree with the statement that “people without internet access are at a real disadvantage because of all the information they might be missing,” while 94% agree with the statement that “the internet makes it much easier to find information today than in the past.”

Beginning Computer Skills: basic computer use (equipment and software) accessing the internet and how to use email and Word.

Intermediate: continuation exploration into email and the internet, including social media, how to work with photos and online safety.
Fee: $3 per class, SESSC members, $5 nonmembers
